Steam has reportedly generated $15 billion in revenue for 2026, with Forza Horizon 6 leading all new platform releases at over $210 million.
Valve is having an exceptionally profitable year on PC. According to recent data shared by Eurogamer through Alinea Analytics, Steam has already generated an estimated $15 billion in gross revenue for 2026. This figure highlights the platform's enduring dominance as the central hub for digital game ownership, DLC, and software sales across the gaming community.
Driving a notable portion of that success are major 2026 launches. Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios took the top spot for new arrivals, with Forza Horizon 6 pulling in an estimated $210.5 million on the platform. Pearl Abyss's Crimson Desert followed closely behind at $203.3 million, with Resident Evil Requiem rounding out the podium at $200.9 million.
Interestingly, the data reveals a broader trend about how Steam makes its money. The top six highest-grossing new releases only account for about $1 billion of that massive $15 billion total, showing that the platform's revenue engine relies heavily on its massive catalog of evergreen titles, live service giants, and seasonal sales rather than just fresh banner drops.
Even with these massive figures, the 2026 release calendar is far from finished. Players still have high-profile heavyweights like Gears of War: E-Day and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 waiting in the wings, meaning Steam's staggering financial totals will only climb higher before the year ends.
