Steam's backend data has revealed five free items coming to the platform's Free-to-Keep promotion in October 2026, including a full cozy narrative game and several day-one content packs for racing and simulation titles.
Steam has kept PC players checking its Free-to-Keep promotions throughout 2026, offering a rotating mix of full games, expansions, and smaller content drops that remain in libraries forever once claimed. Looking ahead to next month, backend data has revealed five confirmed giveaways scheduled for October. This upcoming batch covers a diverse mix of genres rather than focusing on a single type of experience, including add-ons for racing and simulation titles alongside a complete narrative game.
The October lineup features cosmetic and content packs tied to upcoming launches. Racing fans can look forward to the Scrubdesignz Liveries for MXGP 26 and the Gear.Club Signature Pack for Gear.Club Unlimited 3, both expected to drop day-and-date with their respective games. Rounding out the content packs are the Classic American Hunter Pack for Hunting Simulator 3 and the first DLC release for Rotwood. Meanwhile, Fireside Feelings stands out as the sole full game in this initial confirmed batch, offering a narrative- and dialogue-focused cozy experience for players looking for something slower-paced.
While this initial group of giveaways might not appeal to every library, Steam's promotional calendar usually expands with surprise drops and free weekend trials as the month progresses. For players who love building out their backlogs without spending extra cash, keeping an eye on the store page next month will be well worth the effort. Game Rant originally uncovered these backend details, highlighting how platforms continue to use perpetual ownership promotions to keep communities engaged.
