A massive data leak via Steam's API has exposed achievement lists for unreleased PC games including Persona 6, Fable, and Kingdom Hearts 4, revealing potential spoilers and unannounced titles.
A massive data leak has apparently hit Valve, exposing Steam achievement lists for a wide array of unreleased and unannounced PC games through the tracking site Exophase. According to reporting by Rock Paper Shotgun, games like Persona 6, the upcoming Fable reboot, Kingdom Hearts 4, and a Thief: The Dark Project Remastered have all had their trophy lists prematurely splashed across the internet. Exophase owner Mike Bendel noted on ResetEra that the incident likely stems from an issue on Valve's end, which temporarily allowed private game achievements to be accessed through the API and scraped by tracking bots.
While the appearance of these lists confirms the existence and platform presence of several highly anticipated titles, players should exercise caution. Many of these achievement descriptions contain major story spoilers, detailing specific milestones, narrative beats, and hidden mechanics for games that developers have kept under wraps. Even smaller upcoming projects and driving games like Clutch have had their lists exposed, giving trophy hunters and internet sleuths plenty of unexpected data to comb through ahead of official reveals.
For a community that loves hunting digital milestones and analyzing every scrap of pre-release data, leaks like this offer an intriguing window into upcoming software pipelines. However, navigating the community forums right now means dodging untagged story spoilers left and right. Until publishers officially unveil these games and their respective achievement sets, players chasing a clean spoiler-free experience might want to steer clear of third-party tracking sites and discussion boards.
