Auroch Digital has debuted the Major Sammy trailer for Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!, showcasing fast-paced boomer shooter action against classic alien hordes, as reported by IGN South Africa.
The iconic sci-fi franchise is heading back to its roots with a heavy dose of retro action. Auroch Digital has just released the official Major Sammy trailer for Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!, giving players a fresh look at what to expect from this upcoming title. As detailed by IGN South Africa, the game leans hard into the fast paced aesthetics of a classic first person boomer shooter, trading modern tactical slow downs for relentless hordes of alien arachnids.
For a franchise that thrives on over the top action and satirical patriotism, the boomer shooter genre is a surprisingly great fit. Modern players who grew up on fast movement tech and chaotic arena battles will find plenty to love here, especially as developers continue to find new ways to honor nineties sensibilities with modern production values. It is a formula that should resonate well with content creators and communities looking for high energy, clip worthy cooperative or solo chaos.
While release details are still rolling out, the early footage points to a title that understands its audience. Instead of chasing bloated open world trends, Ultimate Bug War! looks focused on pure, unadulterated bug hunting action. Be sure to check out the original trailer over at IGN South Africa to see the new footage in motion.
