Square Enix announced that The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales will launch worldwide on June 18, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Developed with Claytechworks, the HD-2D action-RPG combines time-traveling exploration, real-time combat, and a distinct retro-inspired art style.
Square Enix just gave us a concrete date to circle on our calendars for one of the most striking RPGs on the horizon. During the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, the publisher confirmed that The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales will launch worldwide on June 18, 2026. First revealed back in July 2025 without a launch window attached, the game has steadily built serious momentum among fans of traditional role-playing adventures and stunning visual design. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the upcoming release is positioning itself as a major cross-platform highlight for the summer gaming calendar.
Developed in collaboration with Claytechworks, the studio behind Bravely Default 2, the game leans hard into the polished HD-2D aesthetic that Square Enix has championed so successfully with titles like Octopath Traveler and Live A Live. The art style blends nostalgic pixel craftsmanship with modern lighting and environmental effects. Set on the vast continent of Philabieldia, the story follows a young adventurer named Elliot and his fairy companion Faie as they journey across different historical eras, explore forgotten ruins, and battle fierce beast tribes far beyond the safety of the Kingdom of Huther.
Beyond the gorgeous visuals, the title promises a robust mix of real-time combat and deep character customization that appeals directly to modern players who love investing in massive, narrative-driven worlds. For a closer look at the original announcement details, you can read the full breakdown over at Game Rant. As we get closer to launch, expect this one to dominate creator feeds and community theorycrafting spaces as players prepare to dive into another sprawling Square Enix journey.
