Funcom's holding a building contest for *Dune: Awakening*, giving players a chance to show off their best bases for a shot at winning a LEGO Ornithopter set and other goodies. Get building, spiceheads!
Right, so you've been kicking around Arrakis, dodging sandworms and scrounging for spice in Funcom's *Dune: Awakening*. Fair play to ya. But what's a Fremen to do when they're not busy surviving? Why, build a bloody amazing base, of course!
Funcom, bless their cotton socks, is running a base-building contest, and it's not just for bragging rights, mate. We're talking prizes. Actual, physical prizes. (And some in-game goodies, because what's a contest without a little digital swag?)
See, *Dune: Awakening*, which, by the way, has been selling like hotcakes (or should I say, spice bread?), is all about surviving in a harsh, open-world environment. Building a base is key, and some players have already been showing off some seriously impressive creations – someone even built the Sphinx of Giza! (Talk about dedication… or maybe just a lot of spare time and a love for ancient architecture).
So, what's the deal? From July 14th to July 28th (that's 6 PM EST, for all you time zone travellers), Funcom wants you to submit photos or videos of your faction-themed base. Atreides, Harkonnen, or CHOAM – the choice is yours. Slap your submission on Twitter, BlueSky, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube with the @duneawakening or #DuneAwakening tags. Or, if you're feeling fancy, upload it to Pimp My Dune with the "Building Contest" tag. Just remember, one submission per person, and keep it under 20 photos or 2 minutes of video. (Nobody wants to watch a feature-length film about your spice rack.)
Now, about those prizes… The three grand prize winners (one from each faction) will snag a LEGO Royal Atreides Ornithopter set. That's right, a 1,369-piece LEGO set of the iconic aircraft from *Dune: Part One*. (I reckon that’s a prize worth fighting a Harkonnen for!) The six runners-up won't go home empty-handed, though. They'll receive a *Dune: Awakening* Collector’s Box from Madrinas, containing spice chai latte milk tea (sounds… interesting), a limited-edition shaker cup, and an in-game code for a memory of pain mural decoration.
