Digital Extremes has detailed Soulframe's upcoming Warsong update, featuring a new narrative quest starring Ben Starr, a dark progression pact, highly requested mounts, and pacifist fishing.
Digital Extremes has pulled back the curtain on a substantial new gameplay trailer for Soulframe, giving players a clear look at what is coming in the upcoming Warsong update. The developer leaned into some fun comparisons during the recent Tennocon live panel, describing the update as their version of Spider-Man 3 alongside the introduction of a new progression path affectionately dubbed an edgelord pact. The narrative centerpiece is the Warsong Fable, which features actor Ben Starr stepping into the role of primary antagonist Tempest Bayor. This quest dives into the tragic backstory of the world, explores the mechanics of the blue-armed Envoy powers, and gives players a glimpse of the antagonist faction living up in the clouds.
Alongside the heavy narrative focus, Warsong introduces the corrupted Vadagar pact, which functions as a class system tied to the deities of Wrath, Doom, and Death. Players have also been asking for faster traversal options, and the update answers that call by finally introducing rideable mounts. You will be able to traverse the world on giant wolves and a corrupted horse, with developers promising even more mount options down the road. Rounding out the additions is a pacifist fishing mini-game where catches are released right back into the water, fitting neatly into the game's broader themes of nature preservation.
While Soulframe is still making its way through closed testing phases and does not have a confirmed 1.0 launch window just yet, the team continues to roll out major updates for early testers. If you want to jump in and check out these additions firsthand, you can sign up for the ongoing Preludes test.
