Sega announced a massive year two DLC roadmap for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at Summer Game Fest, revealing upcoming Godzilla and Evangelion crossovers alongside previously detailed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar content packs.
Sega is keeping the pedal to the floor for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, using Summer Game Fest to confirm that the arcade racer is getting a massive year two content rollout. The headline additions include unexpected and thrilling crossovers with Godzilla and Evangelion. While initial community chatter questioned the long term support for the title following its launch window, Sega has silenced those doubts by outlining a roadmap that includes six upcoming DLC packs once the current season pass wraps up.
The crossover formula has been a major part of the game's identity, letting players tear through tracks inspired by diverse pop culture universes. Sega has maintained a mixed monetization model for these extras, offering internal company characters as free updates while licensing external giants like Pac Man, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Mega Man through paid add ons. While exact release dates for the Godzilla and Evangelion content remain under wraps, players still have plenty of immediate action to look forward to on the track.
The pipeline is packed before the new heavyweight licenses arrive. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pack drops in July, bringing Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo to the starting line alongside themed vehicles, music, and courses. That release will be followed by an Avatar pack in October featuring Aang and Katara. As modern multiplayer games live and die by their ongoing content streams, this steady delivery of recognizable franchises ensures the community will have fresh reasons to queue up all year long.
