Sojourn Gets a Cyberpunk Makeover: Overwatch 2's Season 18 Mythic Skin is Lit!
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Overwatch 2's Season 18 Mythic skin turns Sojourn into a cyberpunk superhero, offering a dazzling array of customization options for those willing to grind (or spend) for it. With a slick design and neon highlights, it looks like one for the collection.
Right, so Overwatch 2 just dropped a sneak peek at Season 18's Mythic skin, and fair dinkum, Sojourn's looking like she just stepped out of a neon-drenched future. We're talking full-on cyberpunk superhero vibes with the "Ultraviolet Sentinel Sojourn" skin, and honestly, it's got me wondering if Blizzard's been raiding some discarded 'Blade Runner 2049' sets. For those not in the know, Mythic skins are the fancy-pants cosmetics you can snag in Overwatch 2, customizable to heck and back. They're bought with Mythic Prisms, which you either buy outright or earn through the premium Battle Pass. Each season rolls out a new one, and this time, it's Sojourn getting the glow-up. Remember Horang D.Va from Season 17? Yeah, this is that, but with more lasers... probably.
Ultraviolet Sentinel Sojourn is, according to Blizzard, a futuristic take on the hero from “a fallen future without heroes.” She’s rocking “cutting edge cyber-light tech” to become, and I quote, “a shining figure that inspired others to join the fight.” Sounds a bit cheesy, doesn’t it? But hey, the visuals are hard to argue with. Think bright neon lights, sleek armor, and special effects that'll probably make your PC sweat a little. If you're a Sojourn main, you're probably already drooling.
Now, like any good Mythic skin, there's a shedload of customization options. We're talking four armor sets with increasing levels of detail (because who doesn't love options?), the ability to add extra cyber-light flair (shine bright like a diamond, eh?), three different hairstyles (crucial!), and three colour combos: the default white, pink, and blue; a warm pink, gray, and maroon; and sleek black and red (my personal favourite; you can't go wrong with that combo). Oh, and if you're feeling extra fancy, there are Gilded and Iridescent Mythic Aspects available, too.
Blizzard even did a livestream going behind the scenes on the skin's creation. A good move to show people the work being done and effort being undertaken.
Season 18 hits on August 26th, and that's when you can snag Ultraviolet Sentinel Sojourn for 50 Mythic Prisms in the Mythic Shop. You can then upgrade it through three more tiers for 10 Mythic Prisms each. That’s 80 total to get the full kit and caboodle, with the Gilded Aspects costing 20 each after everything else is unlocked. So, start saving those Prisms, mate. (Source: Game Rant)
But hold on, there's more! (because there always is). Wuyang, the aquatic new support hero, is also set to debut in Season 18, with a trial weekend kicking off on August 14th. Expect the official reveal of his abilities soon. So, plenty to look forward to in the next update, even if you're not a Sojourn devotee.
So, the question remains: is this skin worth the grind, or will it just end up gathering digital dust in your cosmetic collection? I reckon it's a solid effort from Blizzard, even if the whole "fallen future" spiel feels a bit… well, you know. But hey, if it looks cool and plays well, who am I to complain?
