Fans of heartwarming anime have a clear date to circle on their calendars. Polygon reports that Skip and Loafer will officially return for its long-awaited second season in April 2027. The official series website dropped the news alongside a fresh teaser trailer and a commemorative illustration, giving viewers a comforting look back at Mitsumi, Shima, and the rest of the beloved high school crew.
For those who missed the first run back in 2023, the series follows small-town newcomer Mitsumi as she navigates the chaos of a Tokyo high school and builds a genuine bond with the effortlessly popular Shima. Backed by a stellar supporting cast and sharp writing, the adaptation quickly established itself as a standout rom-com in a crowded seasonal lineup. Series studio P.A. Works is keeping the core creative momentum alive, bringing back director and composer Kotomi Deai alongside character designer Manami Umeshita.
Voice actors Tomoyo Kurosawa and Akinori Egoshi are also returning to voice Mitsumi and Shima, sharing enthusiastic notes with fans about stepping back into the recording booth together. When the new episodes drop next spring, Crunchyroll will handle the streaming distribution. It is a welcome return for a series that treats adolescent growth and relationships with genuine care, giving the community plenty to look forward to over the coming months.
