Polygon's weekly Wishlister guide highlights six standout upcoming Steam games from recent convention showcases, ranging from surreal indie passion projects to cozy management sims.
Keeping up with every new game announcement can feel like a full-time job. Between crowded convention streams and algorithmic social media feeds, exciting titles slip through the cracks all the time. Following a packed Gamescom showcase in Germany, Polygon launched a weekly guide called Wishlister to help players track the most promising upcoming releases heading to Steam.
Topping the list is Pony Island 2: Panda Circus from developer Daniel Mullins, following up on the surreal success of Inscryption with another unclassifiable genre-bender. Other standout reveals include Acornia: Mirror Worlds, a genre-hopping adventure starring a combat-ready squirrel from Tinykin developer Splashteam, and Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern, which shifts the classic tabletop focus entirely to cozy tavern management between dungeon crawls.
Rounding out the curation are three more intriguing projects making waves on PC. Springloaded is bringing its systems-heavy management expertise to RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks, Dlala Studios is pivoting from Disney IP to an original dark fairytale hack-and-slash called Murals, and Lego Skylines is offering a brick-based city-builder that blends approachable design with deep simulation mechanics.
