Sims 4 Fairies Feeling a Little Too… Fairy? Patch Arrives to Tame the Chaos

The Sims 4's *Enchanted by Nature* expansion was making everyone sick, but a new patch has arrived to dial down the Ailments and fix some console connection issues, meaning less digital misery for our little simulated friends. Game Rant has the full breakdown.

Right, Simmers, gather 'round! It seems our Sims were catching Ailments faster than you can say "Sul Sul," and EA's finally stepped in with a patch. According to Game Rant, who were all over this like a rash (pun intended, I guess), *The Sims 4* just got a hefty update aimed at calming down the chaos introduced with the *Enchanted by Nature* expansion.

So, what's the big deal? Well, *Enchanted by Nature* brought us fairies, which, let's be honest, we've all been clamoring for since the original *Sims* went 3D. But with new magical beings come new magical maladies. Sims were dropping like flies (or, perhaps more accurately, wilting like enchanted daisies) from Ailments. The patch, released July 29, 2025, thankfully dials down the Ailment frequency significantly.

Apparently, these Ailments were spreading faster than gossip at a Goth wedding. EA's reduced the contagion rate by a whopping 75%. Now, your Sims should only be catching something nasty every three days instead of… well, every single day. Imagine the medical bills! No wonder everyone was so grumpy.

But that's not all, mate. The dreaded "Balance" system, which dictates how emotionally stable (or unstable) your Sims are, also got a tweak. Previously, witnessing a Sim's demise (or, you know, a particularly bad risotto) could send your Sim spiraling into a Very Imbalanced state, making them even more susceptible to Ailments. Now, extreme emotions still take their toll, but Sims have a bit more breathing room to… well, you know, process their grief before becoming magically ill. Progress, eh?

Console players were also reporting issues accessing the Gallery and claiming Event Rewards, thanks to a pesky User Agreement pop-up that refused to, well, pop up. EA's offered a workaround: head to "Game Options," then "Other," and click "Link EA Account." This should force the Agreement to appear, allowing you to accept it and get back to sharing your amazing (or hilariously terrible) creations. It's not a proper fix, but hey, at least there's a duct tape solution for now.

Other tweaks include Naturopaths finally getting holidays (because even magical healers deserve a break), Werewolf noses getting their color options back (priorities, people!), and some fixes for those pesky DLC-related visual glitches. Apparently, Get to Work Aliens and Sims sporting DLC outfits were turning into void creatures when played in a base game only. Not a good look, even for an alien.

EA says they're still keeping an eye on things, so if your Sims are *still* catching Ailments at an alarming rate, let them know. After all, a happy Simmer is a buying Simmer, or so the saying goes.

So there you have it! A patch to tame the fairy frenzy. Now go forth and enchant… responsibly! And maybe invest in some hand sanitizer. You know, just in case.
