Silent Hill 2 Remake Director: 'We Proved the Haters Wrong, Mate!'

The director of Bloober Team is pretty pleased with the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake and how they proved the naysayers wrong, and now they're tackling the original Silent Hill, too! Here's hoping they can keep the magic flowing!

Right, so the folks over at Bloober Team, the wizards behind the *Silent Hill 2* remake, are feeling pretty chuffed with themselves. And fair dinkum, they've got every right to be. According to Game Rant, Jacek Zięba, director of Bloober Team's upcoming *Cronos: The New Dawn*, reckons their work on the *Silent Hill 2* revamp silenced a whole chorus of doubters.

Remember the initial reaction? It was less 'cheers' and more 'bloody hell, they're gonna ruin it!' After all, Bloober Team's previous titles, while atmospheric, hadn't exactly set the world on fire. But they stuck to their guns, poured their heart and soul into it, and… boom! *Silent Hill 2* remake became a smash hit, selling over a million copies in its first three days and hitting two million by January 2025. Not too shabby, eh?

"There were a lot of voices: ‘Oh no, Bloober is doing this. They will destroy that.’ It was very tough for the whole company to stick to our guns and put all our heart into that thing, even if most people don’t want it," Zięba told PC Gamer. "We proved people wrong, so that’s nice.”

Now, they're riding high on that wave of positive feedback and are tackling another beast: a remake of the *original* *Silent Hill*. The pressure's on to deliver again, but Zięba seems confident. “I think we’re riding the wave of people being intrigued, and we need to deliver," he said. "We put our hearts into all our games, and we do whatever we can to make it the best.”

And speaking of delivering, there's even whispers of potential DLC for the *Silent Hill 2* remake, perhaps adding the "Born From a Wish" scenario. Keep your eyes peeled for possible announcements at Gamescom.

So, what's the takeaway here? Well, it seems Bloober Team has leveled up, confidence-wise. They've gone from underdogs to top dogs, and now they're aiming to prove it wasn't a fluke. And while they're cooking up these Silent Hill remakes, they're also working on *Cronos: The New Dawn*, set to drop on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S by the end of next year. Alternate realities, time travel, fast-paced gunplay – sounds like they're throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Hopefully, it'll be another magical hit. Only time will tell, eh?
