Shiny Shadow Scyther? One Lucky 'Mon Trainer Just Hit the Jackpot!

Some lucky *Pokémon GO* player caught a ridiculously rare Shiny Shadow Scyther with perfect stats, making everyone else jealous. Prepare for upcoming events with Dynamax Latios and Dynamax Latias, Toedscool and Toedscruel, and Gigantamax Butterfree.
Right, so you know how sometimes the RNG gods smile upon you in games? Well, one *Pokémon GO* player just had a proper divine intervention. According to Game Rant, a trainer by the name of FWJSupremium (great handle, mate!) managed to snag a Shiny Shadow Scyther with *perfect* IVs.
Now, for those not fluent in *Pokémon GO* lingo, that's a ridiculously rare catch. We're talking a 'one in nearly half a million' kinda rare. The player even did the math! (Bless 'em, because I certainly wouldn't.)
Scyther itself isn't exactly uncommon. It's been kicking around in *Pokémon GO* since the beginning, popping up in wild spawns and events. Its shiny form arrived back in 2019 during the Bug Out event. Shadow Scyther followed later that year. The thing is, getting a *shiny* *shadow* Scyther *with perfect IVs*? That's where things get properly bonkers.
The lucky trainer even caught it with a weather bonus, which, like, rubs salt in the wound for the rest of us still hunting for a decent Squirtle. Weather bonuses, for the uninitiated, boost the spawn rate of certain Pokémon depending on the real-world weather. They also give those Pokémon more powerful moves and extra Stardust when caught. Bonus Stardust? Don't mind if I do.
It’s like finding a unicorn riding a griffin while simultaneously winning the lottery. Other players in the *Pokémon GO* subreddit were, understandably, impressed. Some players previously have similar rare happenings; a shiny Zigzagoon with zero stats (a "nundo") or a hundo Origin Forme Dialga with perfect stats, also known as “shundo.”
And speaking of rare Pokémon, *Pokémon GO* is adding Dynamax Latios and Dynamax Latias on July 26, while Toedscool and Toedscruel debut on July 29, and on August 3, *Pokémon GO* will add Gigantamax Butterfree. Keep your eyes peeled, trainers!
So, congratulations to FWJSupremium on their frankly absurd luck. The rest of us will be here, grinding away, hoping for a fraction of that good fortune. Maybe I'll just stick to catching Pidgeys. At least I know what I'm getting myself into. But hey, that's the beauty of *Pokémon GO*, isn't it? You never know what's lurking around the next corner (or behind the next bush). Credit to Game Rant for spotting this amazing catch!
