RuneScape Is Getting an Animated Series Backed by MoistCr1TiKaL

Jagex announced a new RuneScape animated series created in partnership with Lyrical Animation and internet personality Charlie MoistCr1TiKaL White.

As reported by Polygon, Jagex used RuneFest to announce that a brand new animated adaptation of RuneScape is officially in the works. The project is being developed in partnership with Lyrical Animation, the studio behind upcoming video game adaptations for Bloodborne and Death Stranding. For an MMO with a history spanning over two decades, bringing the lore of Gielinor to a cinematic format feels like a natural step for a community that treats the game as a second home.

What makes this adaptation stand out is the creative involvement of Charlie White, widely known online as MoistCr1TiKaL. Jagex confirmed during a pre-briefing that White is actively collaborating on the series as a massive fan and maxed-out player who genuinely understands the source material. White brings plenty of entertainment industry experience to the table, including voice acting roles and his ongoing work with Lyrical Animation on his own graphic novel adaptation called Godslap.

This announcement arrives alongside the massive reveal that RuneScape 4 is officially in development. By combining a next-generation game update with transmedia projects like this animated series, Jagex is positioning its classic franchise for a modern audience that consumes gaming across multiple platforms and streaming channels. For long-time players who grew up grinding skills on family computers, seeing the world of Gielinor jump to animation is a major win for the community.
