Industry insiders suggest a brand new Star Fox game for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 could be officially announced this month through digital channels, sparking excitement across the gaming community.
Nintendo hardware rumors are heating up again, and this time the chatter centers around one of the company's most beloved classic franchises. According to recent statements from well known industry insider Nate the Hate, reported by Fran Ruiz over at Eurogamer, a brand new Star Fox game could be officially revealed this month. Rather than waiting for a traditional Nintendo Direct broadcast, the announcement is expected to drop directly through social channels or the Nintendo Today app. Given the insider's solid track record, which includes accurately leaking last year's shadow drop of Oblivion Remastered, the community is taking this latest report seriously.
The timing lines up with a broader resurgence for Nintendo's classic IPs. Alongside the rumored Star Fox project, speculation continues to grow around a potential remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which would arrive just as the franchise approaches its 40th anniversary. Fans have also pointed out recent marketing nods, including a clever cameo in the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, as possible groundwork for the franchise's return. Meanwhile, veteran developer Giles Goddard is working on Wild Blue, a spiritual successor that shares heavy DNA with the classic space shooter lineage.
For players tracking the evolution of the Switch 2 ecosystem, these classic revivals point to a strong strategy of leaning into nostalgia while pushing forward with next generation hardware. Whether you are a veteran pilot who remembers the N64 original or a newer player discovering these universes for the first time, seeing dormant franchises get a fresh spotlight is always a win for the community. We will have to wait and see if Nintendo delivers the official reveal before the month wraps up.
