Rockstar Lights Up Miami With A Million Dollar GTA 6 Arena Takeover

Rockstar invested nearly one million dollars to transform Miami's Kaseya Center into a real life advertisement for Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of its November console launch.

Rockstar is ramping up the promotional machine for Grand Theft Auto 6 by bringing the fictional streets of Vice City directly to the real Miami. The exterior of the Kaseya Center on Biscayne Bay now features massive glowing lights spelling out Welcome to Vice City alongside the Roman numeral VI. Fans first spotted the installation work beginning in late September, and reports indicate the high profile stunt cost the studio close to one million dollars following months of negotiations with local officials.

The real world arena appears directly in the game as the Sahara Arena, sitting in the same geographic spot and flanked by the same waterfront ferris wheel seen in recent trailers and screenshots. Getting the green light for the Miami takeover was not entirely straightforward, however. Local commissioners approved the partnership with a narrow four to three vote after pushback from city officials concerned about how the game aligns with local values, while supporters championed the cultural win for the gaming community.

This massive marketing push arrives just ahead of the confirmed launch date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles on November 19. As hype builds across streaming platforms and community hubs, Rockstar is clearly betting that blurring the line between the virtual map and real Florida landmarks is the ultimate way to capture player attention before release day.
