Rocket & Groot Go Symbiotic? Marvel Rivals Season 3 Adds Free (and Slimy) Skins
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Marvel Rivals Season 3 is bringing the symbiote love with free skins for Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Storm, and Hawkeye, along with new accessories and the addition of Phoenix and Blade, so time to get slimy and get playing!
Right, so Marvel Rivals is about to drop its Season 3, and NetEase Games reckons we're all going to be chuffed with the goodies they're throwing our way. And fair play, some of it *does* look pretty rad. Courtesy of Game Rant, we know that two iconic characters are getting some free symbiote-themed skins. That's right, mate, Rocket Raccoon and Groot are about to get a whole lot more… vicious.
Season 3, hitting us on July 11th, isn't just about cosmetics, mind you. We're also getting Phoenix and Blade added to the hero lineup. But let's be honest, the freebies are what's got everyone buzzing.
NetEase is also introducing something called 'accessories.' Think little charms you can dangle off your heroes – a plushie Mary Jane hanging from Spider-Man's hip, for example. You earn 'Accessory Points' by just playing Quick Match and Competitive modes. A reasonable approach, innit?
But back to the main event: these symbiote skins for Rocket and Groot. They're calling them 'Strategist Rocket Raccoon' and 'Vanguard Groot,' respectively, and they look properly menacing. Imagine Groot with Venom's tendrils. *shudders* Good stuff.
And it doesn't stop there. Storm's getting a symbiote skin too, a nod to her Venomized Variant from the comics. You snag that one by completing the 'Milano Repair Logs' challenges – helping the Guardians fix their ship. Sounds a bit like space-age DIY, but I'm game.
Oh, and Hawkeye's getting in on the free skin action as well! The 'Will of Galacta' skin will be available via Twitch Drops. Link your account, watch four hours of eligible streams, and boom – free Hawkeye skin, plus a spray, nameplate, and emote.
So, Season 3 of Marvel Rivals looks like it's shaping up to be a decent one, with plenty of freebies to keep us all busy. Could this be a turning point for the game, or just a fleeting moment of generosity? Only time will tell. But for now, I'm cautiously optimistic. It's certainly caught my eye... and perhaps yours, too. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to practice my Rocket Raccoon trash-talking.
