A24's psychological thriller The Drama, starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, has officially claimed the number one streaming spot on HBO Max following its July debut.
Robert Pattinson continues an impressive run of diverse cinematic projects in 2026, following up major blockbuster appearances with a massive streaming victory. According to FlixPatrol data reported by Polygon, A24's darkly comedic psychological thriller The Drama has officially climbed to the number one spot on HBO Max following its late July streaming debut. Co-starring Zendaya, the 105-minute film has quickly become one of the most talked about conversation pieces on social media as viewers dive into its tightly wound narrative.
Directed with a sharp focus on escalating tension, the movie follows characters Charlie and Emma in the chaotic days leading up to their wedding. After an innocent exchange of secrets with friends, the couple is forced to confront deep, damaging revelations that test the limits of their relationship. Marketing for the film deliberately kept plot details under wraps, allowing audiences to experience the shocking narrative fallout and moral dilemmas firsthand. It is the kind of uncomfortable, high-stakes viewing experience that naturally generates endless discussion threads across Discord and TikTok.
For audiences looking for something beyond traditional CGI spectacles, this streaming hit proves that mid-budget psychological thrillers still hold massive cultural sway. The film tackles difficult questions regarding morality, past mistakes, and whether love can truly conquer devastating truths. As viewers continue to stream the project in droves, it stands as another reminder that both Pattinson and Zendaya remain two of the most reliable draws in modern entertainment.
