Angela Sant'Albano is reportedly taking over the lead role in Tides of Annihilation following Jennifer English's departure earlier this year.
According to a recent report by Eurogamer, the upcoming action game Tides of Annihilation has seemingly found its new lead actor. Angela Sant'Albano, known for her performance as Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem, is reportedly stepping in to voice the protagonist Gwendolyn. While developer Eclipse Glow Games has not yet issued a formal confirmation, the recasting came to light following a gameplay demo shown in Shanghai. Sharp-eared fans and members of the production team quickly pointed to Sant'Albano as the new voice behind the character.
This follows the departure of previous lead Jennifer English, who stepped down from the role in June for personal health reasons. English remains connected to the project in an advisory capacity, even helping the team find a suitable successor to carry the character forward. For an actor with major credits like Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, health and sustainable workloads remain a vital conversation across the industry as performance capture demands continue to grow.
Tides of Annihilation remains one of the more visually striking projects on the horizon, blending high-octane combat reminiscent of Bayonetta with a modern London setting inspired by The Matrix and Inception. The game is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with a playable demo heading to Gamescom. As development presses forward with a new voice at the helm, players will get their next close-up look at the ambitious Arthurian retelling very soon.
