A new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem shown at The Game Awards officially confirms the return of Leon S. Kennedy alongside newcomer Grace Ashcroft and villain Victor Gideon.
Capcom used The Game Awards to blow the lid off its upcoming survival horror lineup, dropping a fresh trailer for Resident Evil Requiem that finally confirms what leaks suggested for months. Fan favorite Leon S. Kennedy is officially back in action. The new footage, originally covered by Game Rant, reveals that an older Leon will return to Raccoon City to cross paths with newcomer Grace Ashcroft. Capcom first teased the game featuring Grace, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak, but the absence of series veterans left the community guessing until now.
The latest trailer also introduced the game's primary antagonist, a hooded figure named Victor Gideon. Gideon is actively hunting Grace while referring to her as chosen and special, setting up a high stakes narrative for players to untangle. Fortunately, Grace will not be facing this threat alone. The footage showcases Leon stepping in to assist her, proving that his combat skills have not faded since his iconic days in Resident Evil 4. Viewers got a thrilling look at his signature roundhouse kicks, precise gunplay, and even a tense moment where he turns the tables on a chainsaw wielding enemy.
For a community that spends countless hours dissecting leaks and waiting for official confirmation, this reveal delivers a major win. The trailer successfully blends nostalgic fan service with modern horror tension, setting high expectations for how Capcom will weave these characters together across PC and modern consoles. As the marketing cycle ramps up, expect the streaming community and lore channels to spend weeks analyzing every second of Gideon and Leon's showdown before release day arrives.
