Resident Evil Remake Trilogy Headed to Nintendo Switch 2 Next Month

Capcom announced that the modern remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 are launching digitally for the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, with physical editions arriving in January 2027.

Capcom is bringing the modern remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, according to an announcement during today's Nintendo Direct broadcast. Digital versions of the trilogy will launch on October 16, with physical editions scheduled to follow in January 2027. Players can purchase each title individually alongside their respective downloadable content, including the Ada Wong focused Separate Ways expansion for Resident Evil 4.

While the ports do not include brand new features or radical upgrades for those who have already finished the horror classics on other platforms, they offer a seamless way to experience the games on portable hardware. These releases bring the core numbered entries natively to the new console, joining previous ports of Resident Evil 7, Village, and Requiem. Combined with backward compatibility for older entries already playable on the system, the entire mainline saga is now accessible in one ecosystem.

Looking ahead, Capcom also confirmed that the upcoming remake of Code Veronica, now titled simply Resident Evil Veronica, will launch for the platform next year. IGN South Africa originally reported these details, highlighting how portable players will soon have full access to the iconic survival horror franchise as hardware capabilities continue to expand across generations.
