Following a massive year for Capcom's iconic survival horror franchise, fans have a new collectible to look forward to in early 2027. According to recent reports from Game Rant, the critically acclaimed Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger is getting a dedicated physical soundtrack release on January 29, 2027. This move capitalizes on the film breaking the franchise's historical curse of poorly received cinematic adaptations, earning a stellar 96 percent Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The upcoming release is tailored specifically for physical media collectors and audiophiles within the gaming community. Composed by Hays Holladay and Ryan Holladay, the single LP package features the full original score, colorful vinyl pressing, and exclusive liner notes straight from the director and composers. It captures the tense, bleak atmosphere of the movie's protagonist, Bryan, navigating the early horrors of the Raccoon City outbreak with his medical delivery bag.
For a franchise that has sold over 200 million units since its 1996 debut, expanding into successful multi-media projects changes the game for how players experience their favorite universes. While digital streaming dominates daily music consumption, high-end physical vinyl releases remain a popular way for communities to celebrate the media they love. This soundtrack drop gives fans another tangible piece of the Resident Evil resurgence to display on their shelves alongside their favorite collector edition game cases.
