Resident Evil Creator Shinji Mikami Headed for D.I.C.E. Hall of Fame

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami will be inducted into the D.I.C.E. Hall of Fame during the 30th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony in February 2027.

Gaming industry legend Shinji Mikami is set to receive the Hall of Fame Award at the 30th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards on February 18, 2027. The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences announced that fellow industry icon Goichi Suda, known as SUDA51, will present the honor to his longtime collaborator and friend.

Mikami's career spans more than three decades, shaping the modern gaming landscape through foundational titles like Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Devil May Cry, Vanquish, and the breakout rhythm action hit Hi-Fi Rush. His fingerprints are all over the evolution of action and survival horror games, and he currently leads Unbound Inc. following its acquisition by Shift Up earlier this year.

He joins a prestigious group of past recipients, including Koji Kondo, Tim Schafer, and Todd Howard. As Mikami works on unannounced projects with his current team, this induction serves as a fitting milestone for a creator whose work continues to influence contemporary developers and players across every platform.
