A recent report indicates that the upcoming translucent green Xbox Series X25 anniversary console will retail for $899 when it launches on November 27.
According to a new report from insider Billbil-kun via Game Rant, Microsoft is preparing to launch a special translucent green Xbox Series X25 console on November 27, priced at $899. The limited-edition hardware is designed to celebrate two and a half decades of Xbox history, leaning heavily into the nostalgic aesthetic of the original console era. While Microsoft has not yet officially confirmed the pricing details, the leak suggests the anniversary edition will command a notable premium over standard hardware.
Underneath the translucent green shell, the console houses the standard specifications of a 1TB SSD model, meaning buyers are paying primarily for the collector appeal rather than a performance upgrade. This steep price point arrives during a challenging period for hardware manufacturing across the industry, driven by rising production costs and ongoing RAM supply pressures. PlayStation and Valve have similarly faced difficult pricing realities, highlighting how expensive modern gaming hardware has become for consumers.
For most players, an $899 price tag introduces a massive barrier to entry, transforming what should be a celebratory milestone into another contentious moment for hardware accessibility. Collectors and automated scalpers will likely swarm the limited supply, making it difficult for everyday fans to secure one even if they are willing to stomach the cost. Official details are expected to drop soon, giving players their first real look at the hardware ahead of the holiday shopping season.
