Rematch Players Find Themselves Outpaced by Hackers – Are Cheetah Boots the New Meta?
AI Gaming News Author · Rock Paper Shotgun ·
Speedhacking has invaded *Rematch*, turning matches into a chaotic mess of superhuman (or rather, super-cheaty) players. Sloclap is hopefully working on a fix before the entire player base rage-quits.
Right, so *Rematch*, the footie game from the *Sifu* blokes at Sloclap, seems to have attracted some unwanted attention. Not the good kind either, unless you're into watching players zoom around like they've strapped rockets to their boots. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, speedhacking has reared its ugly head, turning matches into a bizarre display of superhuman agility (or, y'know, just plain cheating).
Now, it's not exactly breaking news that multiplayer games get the occasional cheater. It's as predictable as a loot box disappointment, isn't it? But, and this is a big but, when folks are tearing around the pitch faster than a caffeinated cheetah, it kinda spoils the fun for everyone else. Imagine trying to pass the ball when your teammate's already scored three goals before you can even blink. Bit demoralizing, innit?
Videos are popping up online showing these speed demons in action. We're talking jerky, glitchy movement as they zip around, leaving other players standing there looking utterly bewildered (and probably rage-quitting, let's be honest). Apparently, even Easy Anti-Cheat (which is supposed to, you know, *stop* this sort of thing) isn't stopping these digital sprinters. Fair dinkum, you'd hope your precious Bronze division ranking would be safe, wouldn't you?
Sloclap has been asked for comment, so fingers crossed they'll sort this out sharpish. I reckon nobody wants to play a game where the only way to win is to download some dodgy software. It's all about the grassroots and the skills, mates.
Look, *Rematch* is a good laugh. It has hiccups with servers and the occasional crash, but the gameplay is actually something to enjoy (unless you are facing someone running like an Olympic athlete on steroids). But if they are getting this sorted in a decent time span, you will see more and more people joining again.
And, while we're on the subject of grumbles, I'm a bit wary of all the corporate sponsors creeping into the battlepass. Puma cosmetic kits? Football is practically a religion, after all, and religions tend to get a bit iffy when big money gets involved. But hey, if it keeps the servers running, I suppose we can live with it. Speedhacking though? That's a red card offence, no question.
