IGN South Africa has released the official trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, setting a spring 2026 theatrical release for the horror sequel starring Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The bloody game of survival is expanding into a global power struggle. IGN South Africa recently debuted the official trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, confirming a theatrical release for spring 2026. Samara Weaving returns as Grace, who finds herself thrust into a much larger tournament after barely surviving the lethal traditions of the Le Domas family in the first film. This time, the stakes involve four rival dynasties fighting for control of a shadowy global council, turning a simple family feud into an all-out war for the ultimate throne.
Fans of the original cult hit will notice a massive expansion in scale and an impressive ensemble cast joining the fray. Kathryn Newton steps in as Grace's estranged sister, Faith, putting sibling dynamics right into the crosshairs of a multi-family manhunt. The stacked lineup also features Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, and even legendary director David Cronenberg. Filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are back behind the scenes to deliver the same blend of dark humor, high tension, and chaotic violence that made the first movie a streaming and box office favorite.
For audiences who love transmedia storytelling and high-concept survival plots, the sequel leans heavily into game-like progression tropes. Grace essentially advances to a harder difficulty setting complete with rival factions and a massive boss-tier prize. As studios increasingly look to franchises that resonate with younger, horror-literate audiences, this sequel positions itself as a major event for both traditional cinemagoers and the creator economy that loves dissecting every frame of a good horror trailer.
