Razer's Project Madison Gaming Chair Brings Haptics and THX Audio to Your Desk

Razer unveiled a new concept gaming chair at CES 2026 called Project Madison, featuring built-in THX speakers, RGB lighting, and advanced haptic feedback that surprised skeptics during hands-on demos.

CES always brings out experimental hardware, but Razer managed to turn some serious skeptics around with its latest concept. According to a hands-on report from Polygon, the hardware giant recently showcased Project Madison, a high-end gaming chair that packs built-in THX speakers, reactive RGB lighting, and advanced haptic feedback directly into the frame. While the market is already flooded with everything from budget seating to luxury ergonomic office chairs, this concept aims to bridge the gap between heavy-duty gaming immersion and actual physical comfort.

What makes the chair stand out is how it handles its laundry list of features without sacrificing basic ergonomics. The prototype includes a 152-degree recline, highly adjustable 4D armrests, and proper lumbar support, all while managing to feel comfortable despite packing internal tech. Through Razer's Sensa HD technology, the chair integrates haptic feedback in two distinct ways. For partnered titles like Marvel Rivals, developers can program specific tactile responses, such as feeling the punch of your own weapon fire without getting overwhelmed by incoming damage. For unpartnered games and general media, the system can convert standard audio signals into haptic feedback.

Razer is promising a wireless PC connection, meaning players will not have to worry about tripping over power cables while spinning around in their setups. There is currently no official release date, price point, or even a final product name attached to Project Madison. Even so, the prospect of wireless audio and tactile immersion built straight into the furniture points toward an interesting evolution for desktop gaming spaces.
