Jack Reacher is heading back to bookstores this month with the release of the 31st novel, Chain Reaction, keeping the momentum alive while the Prime Video series prepares for future seasons.
Fans of Prime Video's hit action series won't have to wait long for their next fix of Jack Reacher, though the character's upcoming return is heading to bookstores rather than television screens. Lee and Andrew Child are releasing Chain Reaction this month, marking the 31st installment in the massive literary franchise. As reported by Polygon, the new novel lands directly on shelves on October 20, 2026, keeping the momentum high while the television adaptation gears up for its fifth season.
For viewers whose only experience with the character is through Alan Ritchson's powerhouse television performance, the massive backlog of thirty novels might seem daunting at first glance. However, the Reacher series is built on self-contained thrillers that make jumping into the latest release effortless. The new plot drops the wandering ex-military cop into Washington, D.C., where General Susan Turner needs help untangling a dangerous conspiracy.
The timing lines up perfectly for a franchise currently dominating both streaming queues and bestseller lists. With season four wrapping up, a Neagley spin-off underway, and production moving toward adapting the novel Make Me for season five, the multi-platform expansion shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you prefer bingeing on Prime Video or tearing through paperback thrillers on your commute, Jack Reacher remains one of the most reliable action properties across modern entertainment.
