FuturLab is delisting the free Final Fantasy 7 and Tomb Raider DLC packs for PowerWash Simulator on May 19 due to the conclusion of its publishing relationship with Square Enix. Players who claim the add-ons before the deadline will retain permanent access.
Developer FuturLab has announced that the popular Final Fantasy 7 and Tomb Raider downloadable content packs for PowerWash Simulator will be delisted from all storefronts on May 19. According to reporting from Polygon, this departure coincides with the formal conclusion of the studio's publishing relationship with Square Enix. Fortunately, if you already own these add-ons or grab them before the mid-May deadline, you will still be able to download and play them indefinitely across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Both packs have been entirely free to claim since launch, letting players scrub down iconic locations like Midgar and Lara Croft's sprawling estate.
The end of this partnership marks a natural evolution for FuturLab rather than any rocky fallout. The studio originally utilized the Square Enix Collective program to launch the first game, but always maintained a long-term strategy of moving into independent publishing. That independence clearly paid off, with the team recently launching PowerWash Simulator 2 to critical acclaim and BAFTA nominations. Working with a major publisher provided the initial visibility boost needed to turn a niche cleaning simulator into a massive cross-platform hit, and now the studio is taking the reins of its own catalog entirely.
For players, the silver lining is that there is still time to secure the DLC at no cost before it disappears. Even as the digital landscape shifts and publisher agreements expire, the team's transition to self-publishing ensures the franchise remains in good hands for future updates and sequels. Head over to your preferred platform store to grab the Midgar and Tomb Raider packs before May 19 so you do not miss out on hosing down the Airbuster or tidying up Croft Manor.
