Pokémon TCG Pocket's Comic-Con Giveaway: 24 Packs of Goodies (and a Tiny Catch)
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
The Pokémon TCG Pocket is giving away free packs via a Comic-Con promo, but there's a sneaky workaround for those outside the US to snag the goods, according to Game Rant. Just don't tell anyone how you did it, yeah?
Right, so Comic-Con happened, and wouldn't you bloody know it, The Pokémon Company decided to sprinkle a little love (and a bit of sneaky marketing) on the masses. Seems they were handing out flyers with a code for Pokémon TCG Pocket, netting you a cool 24 Pack Hourglasses. Which, let's be honest, is basically two free booster packs – but hey, who's counting?
Here's the rub: The code was supposedly only for US addresses. But, and this is where it gets interesting, some digital wizardry seems to be afoot. Apparently, if you're willing to tell a little fib about your location during the sign-up process (set it to the United States, mate!), you can snag the code regardless of where you actually are. Sneaky, right? Almost feels like pulling a fast one on Team Rocket, doesn’t it?
Now, before you go all Ash Ketchum and rush off to sign up, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, this offer's only valid until July 27th at 11:59 PM. So, less time than it takes to evolve a Magikarp, really. Secondly, they say supplies are limited, which probably means the codes will run out faster than free pizza at a gaming convention.
So, how do you actually get your hands on this sweet, sweet digital cardboard? Well, Game Rant (cheers to them for spotting this!) outlined the process. Here's the gist:
1. Head to the Mega Evolution Rush website. (Sounds intense, doesn't it?) 2. Sign up with a valid email address. (Make sure it's new, they're apparently picky.) 3. **Crucially:** Tell a teensy white lie and set your location to the United States. 4. Check all the boxes to receive those lovely marketing emails. (Embrace the spam!) 5. Wait for the email with your unique promo code. (Patience, young Padawan, it might take a bit.) 6. Head to Pokémon TCG Pocket's gift code redemption page and enter your code along with your account's support ID.
Some folks are reporting that you might need a VPN with a US IP address, but most seem to be getting away with just the location switch. Your mileage may vary, as they say.
Ultimately, is 24 Pack Hourglasses a game-changer? Probably not. But with the Wisdom of Water and Sea set on the horizon, every little bit helps, right? And let's be honest, who can resist the lure of free Pokémon cards? It's like a digital scratchie with the potential for a Charizard. Plus, it's a bit of harmless fun, a cheeky little workaround that feels a bit like exploiting a glitch in the Matrix. Just don't tell Professor Oak, alright? He'd probably give you a lecture about digital honesty or something.
