Polygon reports that The Pokémon Company is shaking up its digital mobile card game with an upcoming expansion that addresses one of the most frustrating aspects of digital pack opening. Set to launch on September 29, the upcoming Deluxe Pack: Mega expansion will officially guarantee players a Pokémon ex card in every single pack. The set focuses on reissuing a variety of cards from past expansions, including every four-diamond card from previous drops like July's Ruler of the Skies, while introducing fresh artwork and eye-catching foil variants like a striking new Mega Charizard X backdrop.
Alongside the guaranteed rare pulls, the late October update introduces some much-requested quality of life features for the community. A new community decks feature will allow players to search, view, and directly assemble builds created by other users if they own the necessary cards. Players will also be able to rent complete decks from the newest booster packs for unlimited use in both solo and versus matches, removing some of the friction for experimentation across mobile play sessions.
These additions arrive alongside a broader structural cleanup of the game. The developers are phasing out legacy theme deck lists, old deck missions, and current step-up battles in favor of a reworked solo-battle system and the retirement of specific Release Celebration Poké Gold deals. For a mobile economy built around random chance, guaranteeing tangible value in every pack is a welcome shift that gives collectors and deckbuilders a more reliable path forward.
