Game Freak is offering a free Mewtwo and its Mega Stones in Pokémon Legends: Z-A via Mystery Gift, giving players a powerful party member just ahead of the December 10 DLC launch.
Game Freak is handing out a free Mewtwo complete with its Mewtwonite X and Y Mega Stones in Pokémon Legends: Z-A through a new Mystery Gift event. Players who have already cleared the main story can use the gift to trigger a special side mission inside Lysandre Labs, which ultimately adds the iconic psychic powerhouse straight to your active party. Since Pokémon Home integration is still missing for the game, this drop gives players their only localized option for a heavy-hitting Mewtwo in Lumiose City for the time being.
Timing this giveaway right now is a smart move for players looking ahead to the Mega Dimension DLC on December 10. With enemy levels expected to scale well past 100, having an instantly accessible heavy hitter will save a lot of grinding. It is a welcome reward that bridges the gap between finishing the campaign and tackling the upcoming endgame content drops.
Even though veteran players likely have several copies of Mewtwo sitting in cloud storage from past generations, grabbing this event Pokémon is essential for current save files. If you are still catching up on the map, early launch bonuses like the Mystery Gift Ralts holding a Gardevoirite are reportedly still up for grabs. Head over to Polygon for the full step-by-step breakdown on how to claim your gifts before diving into the labs.
