Pokemon Pokopia is launching its first Halloween event featuring themed items, a new candy currency, and permanent additions like Gourgeist.
Pokemon Pokopia is leaning into the spooky season with its first major holiday celebration. IGN South Africa reports that the limited time event, titled Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises, runs from October 17 through November 1 and brings a fresh batch of seasonal content to the game. Players can look forward to trading for themed decorations like Jack O Lanterns and glowing ghost items, while expanding their virtual worlds with new habitats.
Earning these seasonal rewards requires engaging with the event specific currency, pumpkin candy. To stack up on treats, players who have unlocked the Bleak Beach area can utilize Zorua's Camouflage ability. This mechanic lets players transform into everyday items to trick their Pokemon before revealing their true Ditto form, earning rewards from the confused creatures in the process.
Beyond the temporary festivities, the update introduces permanent additions to the Pokopia ecosystem. Players can work toward building a specialized habitat for Pumpkaboo's evolution, Gourgeist. Both Ghost type Pokémon will remain in the game after the event concludes, ensuring that the steady stream of post launch updates continues to add lasting value for active players.
