Pokemon Go Harvest Festival 2026 Launches With Shiny Applin and Team Rocket Takeover

Pokemon Go's 2026 Harvest Festival brings shiny Applin, a new Go Pass featuring shadow Zekrom, and a Team Go Rocket takeover running through October 5.

Pokemon Go has officially kicked off its annual Harvest Festival event, running through October 5 with a heavy focus on everyone's favorite apple-themed dragon. As reported by Polygon, this year brings the long-awaited debut of shiny Applin, giving shiny hunters plenty of green apples to track down in the wild using Mossy Lure Modules. Alongside the seasonal spawns, players can look forward to a full Team Go Rocket Takeover starting on October 2, bringing plenty of action for anyone looking to shake up their daily routing on mobile.

The event also introduces a 30-tier Go Pass alongside another 30 bonus ranks. Premium pass buyers dropping the $4.99 upgrade fee get immediate access to a Super Rocket Radar at rank 1, though free-to-play players can still earn one by grinding up to rank 30 to hunt down Giovanni and catch shadow Zekrom. Meanwhile, branching Timed Research lets players choose between evolving their Applin into Flapple, Appletun, or Dipplin, tying directly into specific apple rewards for the next steps of the questline.

While none of these particular evolutions currently dominate the meta for raid battles or PvP leagues, the event offers great value for completing your Pokedex and grabbing candy. Field research tasks reward encounters with grass-type favorites alongside boosted spawns for Skwovet, Lechonk, and Smoliv. It is a solid, seasonal update that gives mobile players a fun excuse to get outside and log some kilometers before the next big platform update drops.
