Pokemon GO is celebrating its tenth anniversary and Global GO Fest 2026 by offering players free rare Pokemon, including a special Mewtwo with perfect IVs and boosted shiny odds.
Pokemon GO is officially hitting its tenth anniversary, and Niantic is marking the massive milestone by handing out some exceptionally rare rewards. Players jumping into the Global GO Fest 2026 events can secure three rare Pokemon for free, headlined by a special Mewtwo encounter distributed during recent anniversary festivities. This particular Mewtwo comes with a unique Special Background, guaranteed perfect IVs, and a boosted shiny chance to make the anniversary drop genuinely memorable for longtime collectors.
This anniversary arrives during a transitional period for the mobile juggernaut. Following the recent acquisition by Scopely, the studio is refreshing its branding, but the live service calendar continues full steam ahead. Alongside the Mewtwo distribution, data miners and community leaks point toward an extensive lineup of upcoming raids and bonuses designed to keep daily players and returning fans engaged throughout July.
For a community that has stuck with the augmented reality pioneer through a decade of shifting mobile trends, these high value freebies offer a welcome bit of nostalgia. Niantic is leaning heavily into player goodwill as the game enters its tenth year. You can check out the original breakdown of the event details over at Game Rant.
