Sony has officially announced a full remake of the original God of War trilogy for the PS5, featuring an appearance by original Kratos voice actor TC Carson.
During the latest State of Play broadcast, Sony gave classic gaming fans a massive surprise by officially confirming a full remake of the original God of War trilogy for the PlayStation 5. While the initial reveal trailer did not show any active gameplay, it served a heavy dose of nostalgia by featuring TC Carson, the original voice actor behind Kratos, who helped deliver the announcement to the community.
For players who started their journey with the Norse era on modern hardware, this upcoming project offers a chance to experience the brutal, mythology-driven origins that defined the franchise on older generations. Rebuilding these foundational titles from the ground up makes sense in today's landscape, where players expect contemporary performance standards and visual fidelity from major platform exclusives.
As we wait for actual gameplay footage and a clearer release window, the conversation turns to how the studio will modernize the fixed-camera hack and slash mechanics of the mid-2000s without losing the intense identity of the originals. Sony has a strong track record with legacy revamps, and this trilogy return is already generating massive traction across creator streams and community hubs.
