Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can play the entire game of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for free until September 30, complete with save data carryover and bonus platinum points.
Nintendo Switch Online members just scored one of the most generous game trials in recent memory. Ubisoft and Nintendo are letting subscribers download and play the entirety of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for free through September 30. As reported by IGN South Africa, the offer includes save data carryover if you decide to purchase the full game later, plus 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points for completing an in-game mission during the trial window.
For anyone who missed out on launch, this 2D Metroidvania from Ubisoft Montpellier is a massive win. Critics originally praised the title for translating the spirit of older franchise entries into a sharp 2D perspective, earning an impressive eight out of ten in reviews. Despite the critical acclaim, the game struggled to meet commercial expectations, leading Ubisoft to disband the core development team and shelve sequel plans. Even so, the studio has continued supporting the title with quality-of-life updates, story DLC, and even a mobile port.
While a direct sequel remains unlikely, this limited time trial is the best possible way to experience a genuinely stellar platformer without opening your wallet. If you are looking for a weekend binge that respects your time and rewards exploration, this is an easy recommendation. Just make sure you have your active Nintendo Switch Online subscription ready to go before the download window closes on September 30.
