Subscription services continue to shape how we discover indie adventures, and the upcoming lineup just got a major anchor. Developer Wishfully and publisher Thunderful Group have confirmed that Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf will launch on March 5, 2026. True to the model set by its predecessor, the anticipated puzzle platformer is arriving as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass. For players juggling multiple platforms and tight entertainment budgets, securing standout narrative experiences directly through a subscription library remains one of the best value propositions in gaming today.
The official release date arrived alongside a fresh gameplay trailer, giving us a closer look at the hand-painted visuals and diverse environments defining this sequel. Players will once again step into the shoes of Lana alongside her creature companion Mui, navigating a divided world that blends lush natural ecosystems with high-tech machinery. The footage previewed a broad variety of biomes, ranging from snow-covered regions and dense swamps to a dynamic running-train level and a distinct shanty town, signaling plenty of atmospheric variety for the journey.
Beyond the final launch date, the studio also announced that a playable demo will drop ahead of the full release, letting the community test out the mechanics early. Giving players a hands-on taste before day one is a smart move for building community momentum and creator-led hype on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. As subscription services evolve to keep cross-platform players engaged, locking in quality indies with dedicated demos proves to be a winning strategy for long-term player retention.
