Indie horror farming sim Neverway has been delayed to 2027 as the developers expand the game's scope, though new details on its romanceable characters and multiple endings have been revealed alongside a playable Steam demo.
Developer Coldblood Inc., featuring talent behind Celeste and Fez, has announced that their upcoming horror life sim and RPG Neverway is moving its release window to 2027. While the indie title never had a locked launch date, the team shared in a Steam blog post that positive feedback from the game's prologue and recent internal playtests pushed them to expand several chapters and areas to better match their creative vision.
Even with the wait extended, the small three person team tossed the community a bone by detailing some of the character systems. Neverway features twenty characters with over 250 distinct daily routines, and twelve of those residents are available for romance. Building those relationships carries serious weight since player bonds directly influence the game's multiple endings, which the developers describe as varied and interesting rather than strictly good or evil.
Delays are always tough for communities waiting to dive into a fresh experience, but extra development time for a moody, ambitious indie project is usually worth the wait. Rock Paper Shotgun highlights that players do not have to wait completely empty handed, as the Steam page currently hosts a playable demo for anyone wanting to test the waters before wishlist additions.
