Atlus has teased a Persona 5 crossover for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, bringing Joker and Sonic the Hedgehog to the game under the Override theme.
Fortnite is leaning hard into its identity as the ultimate gaming crossover hub. Atlus has officially teased that Persona 5 is making its way to the battle royale giant. The collaboration arrives as part of Chapter 7 Season 4, titled Override. The upcoming update leans heavily into the Gaming Legends theme, and Sonic the Hedgehog is also slated to join the roster. A brief nine-second teaser from Atlus shows protagonist Joker sprinting across a futuristic map, giving fans a first look at what to expect when the update drops.
The timing lines up with a massive milestone for the franchise. The collaboration coincides with the ten-year anniversary of Persona 5, a title that evolved from a critically acclaimed role-playing game into a cultural juggernaut with an anime adaptation and countless spinoffs. Of course, the crossover has already sparked jokes across social media about the dreaded Persona 5 curse. Fans love to point out that several live-service titles shut down shortly after welcoming the Phantom Thieves, though major staples like Overwatch managed to survive just fine. Epic Games will surely keep Fortnite safe from any supernatural doom.
For players, this partnership highlights how far virtual wardrobes and digital ownership have evolved. Epic continues to turn its platform into a living museum of gaming history where franchises from every corner of the industry collide. We will have to wait for the full reveal from Epic Games to see how Joker and the rest of the crew translate into the Unreal Engine environment. You can read the original report over at Polygon.
