Persona 4 Revival Details Drop at Anime Expo 2026 With MAPPA Animations and Game Pass Launch

Atlus revealed new details for Persona 4 Revival at Anime Expo 2026, confirming MAPPA as the animation studio for new cutscenes, announcing a day one Xbox Game Pass launch, and detailing a February 18, 2027 release date.

Atlus brought major updates to Anime Expo 2026 this weekend for Persona 4 Revival, the upcoming remake of the classic PlayStation 2 roleplaying game. During a panel featuring general producer Kazuhisa Wada, business producer Yosuke Uda, and character designer Shigenori Soejima, the team shared fresh details about the project. Fans got a closer look at the visual upgrades coming to the remake, alongside a new character trailer for Rise Kujikawa that confirmed Abby Trott as her English voice actress.

One of the most exciting reveals from the panel is that Atlus is partnering with MAPPA for the game's brand new anime cutscenes. MAPPA is the powerhouse studio behind major hits like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, and they previously handled the opening animation for Persona 5 Royal. Attendees got a look at a cutscene showing the protagonist, Yosuke, and Teddie encountering enemies and awakening their personas for the first time. To help build momentum ahead of the launch, Atlus and Aniplex USA are also streaming Persona 4 The Animation and Persona 4 The Golden Animation for free on YouTube through August 19.

For players tracking release details, Persona 4 Revival is officially scheduled to launch on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Even better for community accessibility, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. As reported by Polygon, the panel highlights how Atlus is positioning the remake as a definitive entry point for newcomers while giving longtime fans plenty of reasons to dive back into Inaba.
