The convention floor is always full of surprises, and PAX East 2026 has brought plenty of physical loot to balance out our digital queues. In a recent video showcase reported by IGN South Africa, the team cracked open some of the most sought-after physical drops currently making waves at the convention. From high-profile trading card game releases to exclusive blind boxes, the floor offers a tangible reminder of why convention culture remains a massive draw for collectors and social players alike.
A major highlight of the unboxing was the spotlight on specialty Magic: The Gathering drops, including the Secret Lair So Salty Edition and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover set. These limited physical card releases continue to blur the line between traditional tabletop gaming and pop culture collector items, driving massive engagement across community spaces and creator streams. Alongside the cards, the showcase revealed an assortment of fan-favorite swag, including Tubbz ducks, Dungeons and Dragons dice, Mario Kart pins, and Pokémon minis.
The entire showcase was presented in partnership with Butterfinger, featuring a special IGN and Butterfinger mystery box packed with the brand's new limited edition French Toast candy bar. While digital economies and battle passes dominate our daily screen time, these physical unboxings show how real-world events still lean heavily into the thrill of the pull.
