Palworld Official Card Game Unveils Legendary Trait Ahead of October Expansion

The Palworld Official Card Game is introducing the Legendary trait in its upcoming Legends Awaken expansion, bringing new deckbuilding restrictions and strategic depth to the tabletop spin-off.
The Palworld Official Card Game is gearing up for its second major set, Legends Awaken, bringing a fresh mechanical twist straight from tabletop heavyweights. Publisher Bushiroad recently revealed the introduction of the Legendary trait, which limits players to having only one Legendary Pal with the same name in their Base at any given time. Jetragon has been confirmed as the first monster to carry this status, echoing the classic rule set found in Magic: The Gathering for legendary creatures where duplicates must immediately hit the graveyard.
This upcoming October release follows the massive breakout success of the game's initial set, Dawn of Palpagos. That debut run caught a massive wave of momentum from the monster-catching survival hit, though it also unfortunately drew aggressive scalpers and sent secondary market prices soaring. Fortunately, Bushiroad has confirmed that a much-needed second edition reprint of the first set will drop alongside Legends Awaken, while also teasing a third set titled Eternal Ascent to keep the competitive ecosystem moving forward.
Beyond its unique monster mechanics, the Palworld TCG continues to pull smart design choices from across the tabletop space. The game utilizes an automated mana system similar to Riftbound that doles out Souls each turn, alongside combat rules inspired by Lorcana that let players target rival Pals, structures, or opponents directly. For physical collectors and competitive players looking for the next big card game obsession, the upcoming expansion aims to add real depth to the meta while keeping the spirit of the open-world survival game alive.
