Palworld 1.0 Patch Notes Are Literally Too Long for Steam

Palworld developer Pocketpair ran into a funny problem ahead of the 1.0 launch when their 40 page patch notes broke Steam character limits.
After more than two years in early access, Pocketpair is officially launching Palworld 1.0. As reported by Polygon, the final hurdle for the team was quite unusual. The update is so massive that the patch notes actually broke Steam and exceeded the platform limit. Pocketpair head of publishing and communications Bucky shared screenshots on social media showing that the changelog hit a staggering 65,000 characters across 40 pages, which is more than double the standard 32,000 character limit on Steam. Fortunately, the team managed to condense and publish the full list without cutting any content.
The 1.0 release brings a staggering amount of new content to the table. Players can expect more than 20 new pals, the long awaited arrival of the playable World Tree region to wrap up the main story, and major reworks to tower bosses, Wildlife Sanctuaries, and No-Hunting Zones. While existing saves are technically compatible, Pocketpair recommends starting a fresh save to get the smoothest experience. Despite the massive scope of the update and surpassing 40 million players ahead of launch, Pocketpair is keeping the price locked at $29.99 rather than increasing it.
For a game that captured the gaming world's attention as a breakout survival hit, reaching the 1.0 milestone feels like a major victory for the community. The sheer volume of changes shows just how far the project has evolved since its initial early access debut. Whether you are jumping back in with friends on crossplay or starting fresh on PC, console, or Mac, the 1.0 release sets a high bar for what an early access survival crafting game can achieve.
