Overwatch's Newest Valentine's Skin Turns Soldier: 76 Into a Ghost

A new Valentine's Day skin for Soldier: 76 in Overwatch is causing the character to become partially invisible at a distance, though Blizzard plans to patch the bug soon.
Blizzard released its latest batch of seasonal cosmetics last week, introducing a set of Valentine's Day outfits for select heroes under the Loverwatch theme. Unfortunately, the festivities hit a snag with Soldier: 76 and his new Charming 76 skin. Players quickly discovered that the Prince Charming outfit causes the character model to partially vanish whenever he moves roughly 20 meters away from an opponent. While his head and cape remain visible, the rest of his body completely disappears from a distance. The game still registers body shots if you can manage to land them blindly, but the visual bug effectively turns the hero into a high-tier stealth threat in standard matches and training modes, though the issue thankfully spares third person Stadium matches.
Skin and model bugs are nothing new for the hero shooter since the launch of season 1. Recent months have brought plenty of quirks, including Hanzo victory poses that awkwardly contort character models and Ana Lunar New Year skins that sport entirely different color schemes after purchase compared to their previews. These visual glitches add an extra layer of frustration for players grinding out competitive matches or trying to show off newly acquired digital cosmetics.
Polygon reported that Blizzard is already aware of the problem and plans to roll out a fix in the upcoming 2.21.0.2 patch. Until that update arrives, players facing off against the semi-invisible soldier in standard queues might want to lock in beam-wielding heroes like Zarya, Mei, or Moira. Area of effect and beam tracking weapons make short work of enemies relying on visual bugs for cover, letting you skip the precision aiming entirely until Blizzard patches the wardrobe malfunction.
