Overwatch has revealed gameplay for its newest Support hero, Doctrine, who brings life-manipulating abilities and a game-changing ultimate to Season 5 on October 6.
Overwatch is expanding its roster with a brand new Support hero named Doctrine, and the latest gameplay footage gives players a clear look at his mechanics ahead of his launch. Armed with an Eternal Scepter, Doctrine can manipulate life forces to heal teammates and pressure opponents. His kit introduces fresh utility to the role, featuring abilities like Shrouded Momentum for evasion and Invigorating Drones that boost both ally attack speed and healing output.
What makes Doctrine particularly interesting for the meta is his Infuse mechanic, which supercharges his next ability. Players can use Infuse to grant Shrouded Momentum free-flight capabilities or add piercing damage to his scepter attacks, opening up high-skill plays and dynamic positioning options. His ultimate ability, Deliverance, alters the team fight entirely by granting generous overhealth to allies while actively draining the maximum health pool of enemy players.
As reported by IGN South Africa, Season 5, titled A Grim Doctrine, kicks off on October 6, 2026. For support mains who enjoy high-impact utility and versatile combat options, Doctrine looks set to shake up team compositions across PC and consoles when the new season drops next week.
