Overwatch Mid-Season Patch Takes Another Swing at Balancing Vendetta

The latest Overwatch mid-season patch brings another round of adjustments for Vendetta, shifting her lifesteal perk to a late-game major unlock while tweaking several other heroes including Mizuki and Illari.

Blizzard is still trying to nail down the right balance for Vendetta, rolling out yet another set of tweaks in the latest mid-season patch. Since her debut back in December, the melee damage hero has proven exceptionally tricky to tune. Earlier adjustments, including minor damage reductions to her overhead attack and Whirlwind Dash alongside a respawn cooldown for Soaring Slice, failed to fully curb her dominance. According to the development team, this update is meant as a fine-tuning pass rather than a complete overhaul, building on a season-opener that largely stabilized the roster.

The core of the latest Vendetta adjustment focuses on her Siphoning Strike perk. Blizzard is moving the lifesteal effect back up from thirty percent to forty percent, but reclassifying it as a major perk that players unlock later in a match. Developers noted that the self-sustain was simply too strong for a minor perk and gave her too much passive power when stacked with attack speed boosts. Shifting it later in the match progression should curb her early game snowballing while keeping her late game identity intact.

Beyond Vendetta, the mid-season update addresses several other heroes across the roster. Mizuki is receiving a welcome range increase on her healing ability to let support players stay out of the immediate line of fire. Meanwhile, Illari is getting slight nerfs to her attack speed and healing uptime to tone down her overperformance, and adjustments are hitting Ramattra, Hazard, Emre, and Jetpack Cat as well.
