Overhype Studios Drops First Roadmap for Early Access Strategy Game Menace

Overhype Studios has released the first content roadmap for early access strategy game Menace, outlining upcoming story expansions, new units, and planetary overhauls without setting strict release dates.

Early access roadmaps usually come with a strict timeline, but the team behind tactical strategy game Menace is taking a different approach. According to details shared via Rock Paper Shotgun, Overhype Studios has released the first content roadmap for Menace following its initial month in early access on Steam. Instead of locking down firm dates, the developers decided to keep things flexible, noting that rigid schedules often restrict creative problem solving and responsive development.

Even without calendar dates attached, the roadmap outlines a massive amount of content heading to the tactical sci-fi game. Players can expect routine updates featuring new weapons, items, enemy variants, bug fixes, balance tweaks, and artificial intelligence improvements. On the larger side, the plan includes three squad leader reinforcement drops based on story factions and marine characters, alongside two major story expansions. Developers also teased three redacted system and feature updates, with the final mystery drop promising a new large boss unit and a new small unit.

Campaign and world building are also getting major attention. The roadmap confirms plans for a complete rework of existing planet environments, the introduction of new planets with sub-biomes, and planet linked story factions. By choosing to go with the flow rather than forcing updates into rigid windows, Overhype Studios is prioritizing quality over arbitrary deadlines. For strategy fans tracking the game on PC, it signals a transparent development process that values community feedback as the game evolves.
