One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Gets a Digital Glow-Up & Character Pack 7 – Are We Ready for More Chaos?

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is set to receive a surprise next-gen release alongside its Character Pack No. 7, bringing fan favourites Lucci - CP0-, S-Snake, and Jewelry Bonney to the brawl, promising more chaotic action for new and returning players.
Well, well, well, look what the digital tide washed in! Just when you thought *One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4* was comfortably sailing the Grand Line, minding its own business, Bandai Namco decides to throw a surprise party.
Turns out, the musou mayhem isn't just getting Character Pack No. 7 – featuring the likes of Lucci - CP0-, S-Snake, and the ever-stylish Jewelry Bonney – it's also getting a full-blown next-gen release! Bloody hell, right?
Fair dinkum, these are some proper heavy-hitters joining the fray. Lucci, S-Snake, Bonney... it’s like they just opened the character vault and said, 'Let's unleash some chaos!' Should make for some delightfully destructive new combos, I reckon.
But the next-gen release? Now that's a curious one. Like finding a lost map to a treasure you didn't even know existed. What does a digital glow-up truly entail for a game that's been out for a bit? Smoother framerates? Prettier explosions that really pop? Less loading time for those epic pirate clashes? Or will it be more of a subtle polish, like adding a bit of shimmer to Luffy's hat? Always gotta approach these 'next-gen upgrades' with a healthy dose of gentle skepticism, eh? We're all hoping for that buttery-smooth performance, not just a slightly shinier hull.
Still, it's pretty cool to see games continue to evolve and find new life. It means more people might jump into the pirate action for the first time on their new consoles, or old hands get a reason to dive back in and experience the chaos anew. Like a wizard accidentally conjuring a new portal to an old adventure. More One Piece smashing fun is generally a good thing in my book, mate!
Massive cheers to IGN South Africa for giving us the heads-up and a peek at the announcement trailer.
